Fondant cake for Jannah

I'm so excited!

This is my second fondant cake, and it turned out fabulous! Ahem... if I may say so... *smile*.

I really had a great time planning and preparing it. Had the roses done a week earlier with help from my dear SIL, who is now quite an expert on it.

The cake was for my cousin Jannah's wedding solemnization ceremony last weekend. Wish her all the best and pray that Allah will bless her with happiness and barakah in this marriage (and a great number of children too! *smile*).

Thanks for cousin Maya too for having faith in me...

isn't she's a beauty? pink colour... my favourite colour too...

Frankly, there are several details that I need to improve *sigh*. But I'm not going to reveal it now! For now, I want to bask in this feeling of achievement!

Nana's Wedding - Part I

Dear Nana,

As you embark your new life as a wife, I wish you happiness always as Mrs Wan Adlan. May there'll be lots of little ones ( little Wans?) to grace your life and may Allah's guidance be with you along the way... always...

Lots of Luv,
Auntie Zura

Note: The fondant cake above was for Nana's 'hantaran balasan' during the Nikah ceremony yesterday. I would like to thank my SIL and my sifu/ friend for the guidance and assistance to make this fondant cake possible.

Happy Birthday Makcik!

This is a request from Dalilah. She wanted a cake to be given to her beloved Makcik, the person who has taken care of her since she was 20 days old. One thing good about Dalilah, my family can rely on her to remember everybody's date of birth!

Steamed fruit cake covered with chocolate buttercream icing, decorated using dropped flowers and connelly (is this spelling correct?) lace techniques.

This is the cake on the inside. I am quite satisfied with the results - fruits evenly spreaded inside the cake...

However, I still need to improve on my handwriting, and, after I had taken the pictures, I realized that I have also forgotten to cross my 't'... (Happy Birlhday) :( .... oh well....

Luckily, nobody realized it!

Jojie's Birthday and fruit cake

These are outdated pictures, about 2 weeks back. The first was a birthday present for Jojie - steamed chocolate cupcakes with chocolate ganache. First time I tried to do the basketweave technique. Turned out ok although although the first few were a bit messy. Hope you don't notice them! (I managed to cover them with the sugarpaste flowers....hihihi!)

The second picture is my first ever baked fruit cake. This is a simple fruitcake, eggless, suitable for vegetarians.
