Happy Belated Birthday Fadlun, Zamey & Akmal!

This 6x6 cupcake set was ordered by Kak Eton for her office's potluck event. This is the first time I tried this font- 'Monosive Corsiva' for the wordings (after receiving feedbacks from my family). I think, it looks better than my previous writings-on-cakes, but I definitely need to improve on my handwriting!

Looks like I have to go back to school and practise more on my handwriting!!

Thanks a lot Kak Eton. Hope En. Fadlun, Zamey, Akmal and the rest of your office-mates like my cupcakes!

Nana's Engagement Ceremony

Phew! At last it's over. Months of planning by Kak Sal and family for Nana's engagement ceremony was successfully executed yesterday. We are very happy for Nana and her fiance.

This is the cupcakes that I humbly contributed for the 'return hantaran', inspired by the English Bouquet from Mama Lea. For this, I baked butter cheesecake, decorated with buttercream icing.

This is the cupcakes inside the casing after decorated by Nana and me at her house, the night before the ceremony...

Another picture of the set of cupcakes beside the 'mini pelamin'.

Last but not least, these are the same batch of cupcakes, only decorated differently (with strawberry filling), for the guests.

Congratulations Nana and Adlan. May Allah bless you both, and please take good care of yourselves....

Brownies walnut with strawberry

This brownies is for Ayah's birthday, celebrated at my MIL's.

Fancy cookies. Dalilah's cake and chocolate cupcakes

This is a belated posting. My PC had to be sent to the 'workshop'.

Some call it decorative cookies, and some call it fancy cookies. I think it is all the same. Since the last posting, I was in the mood of doing fancy cookies. Here is some of my creations for Dalilah's Birthday... again.... (as usual, hers are always celebrated several times... very thoughtful of her to think of EVERYBODY, but makes me very, very busy...phew!). These are for her cousins and neighbours.

Bought special cookie cutters for these hehehe...

In between, Diana called to send her some cupcakes last weekend. This set of 3x3 chocolate moist cupcakes was ordered by Diana's friend, a present for another friend's birthday...

This is Dalilah's Birhday cake, shared with Ayah and Atok. Their birthday is in March, in fact, Dalilah shares her birthday with Atok Abah, 2nd March.

Actually, I had wanted to bake her a doll cake, but being her thoughtful self, she opted for this simple round cake saying "A doll cake will not be suitable for Atok & Ayah...". So sweet of her, but, there goes my chance to create my second doll cake... huhuhu..... She's just turned 8, so, a doll cake should be perfect for her, or so, I thought....

Hope I could do a doll cake for my niece....

Decorative cookies for Dalilah

I have been planning to try this baking project for months. Finally last night I managed to try it out. Since I need an occasion to try it, I chose Dalilah's birthday. She usually brought 'something' to school on her birthday since kindergarten. So, this year I suggested she bring this, instead of the usual goodie bag.

From the stories I heard from Dalilah, it seems that her friends and teachers like the cookies very much. Some even asked for second helpings! I'm glad to hear that there's no leftovers to take back home!

I used almond cookies recipe for the cookies and decorated them with royal icing. I think I need more practice on the icing... and need to be more creative with the designs...

Happy Birthday my sweet Dalilah.

Buttercheese cake again

I had some leftover cream cheese in my fridge. So, I baked buttercheese cake again but with some variation. I included the crust (such as the one as for REAL cheesecake) and poured strawberry filling on it, also like we do for REAL cheesecake. Brought it to my MIL's during the weekly visit. Everybody loves it!

Baked Macaroni with hot tuna

Once in a while I include some savories in my 'baking projects'. However, I always forgot to take pictures of those projects, mainly because they are not as pretty as the cakes. Anyway, who decorates baked savories, i.e, baked macaronis or quiches, right?

As my other (and better) half does not favour sweet stuffs, such as cakes and cookies, so, as much as possible I try to find recipes that suit his tastebud as part of my baking projects. Such as this 'Baked Macaroni with hot Tuna'. Thanks Roslina for sharing the recipe. InsyaAllah I will bake it again as my other half really likes it!

A little bit burnt, but still okay (read: can still be eaten) *smile*. Below was the leftover...

Recipe:

1 bowl (soup) of macaroni (boiled as intructed on the packaging)
1 small box of Dutch Lady fresh milk
3 pieces of bread

To be mixed:
Half bottle of mayonnise (small)
2 pieces pf capsicum (bell peppers) diced into small cubes
5 medium-sized eggs (beaten)
2 cans of hot tuna
crushed black peppers
salt to taste
mozarella cheese (grated)

Tear the bread into small pieces and soak it in the milk for a while. Mix everything and pour into a casserole dish. Bake for 35-45 minutes 175C.

So easy, right?
